- 900 grams ribeye steaks, 1 steak per serving
- 1 tablespoon ghee or butter
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
- 1 tablespoon ghee or butter
- 2 garlic cloves, crushed
- 100 grams mushrooms, sliced
- 80 grams cream cheese
- 120 ml thickened cream
- salt and ground black pepper to taste
METHOD
Take your steaks out of the fridge and bring them to room temperature.Dry the steaks with a paper towel and season generously with salt and pepper.
Heat up a large frying pan on medium to high heat depending on how you like your steak cooked. Add the ghee. Place the steaks in the frying pan and fry to your liking: rare, medium, or well done. Remove the meat from the pan, cover, and let it rest while you prepare the rest.
MUSHROOM SAUCE: Lower the heat and add more butter (if necessary) to the same frying pan. Fry the garlic and mushroom slices until golden. Season with salt and pepper.
Turn the heat down and add the cream cheese, mixing to avoid any lumps.
Add the cream and stir until heated through. Taste and season with more salt and pepper if necessary.
Serve the steaks with the creamy mushroom sauce and tasty leafy green side salad.
