TOP 12 FOODS TO BURN FAT

Posted by SLIMTOX Team Member on

The SLIMTOX Program has been written by our qualified Nutritionists to ensure that you are eating a wide variety of vegetables, lean proteins as well as healthy fats every day. All these macronutrients are essential for your body and should always be included as part of your meal plans.

Here are our favourite foods that we enjoy during our SLIMTOX fat burning program to burn fat faster.

Protein

Chicken Breast

Chicken is a great staple to help shed body fat and improve your body composition Although chicken comes in many cuts including breasts, thighs, wings and drumsticks, each cut contains a different number of calories and proportion of protein to fat. The darker the meat, the higher the fat/calorie breakdown.

To get the most from your SLIMTOX lifestyle program, we recommend you include up to 4 servings of Chicken breast per week as it is the leanest protein choice containing a large 31 grams of protein per 100 grams serve and zero carbs.

Salmon

Salmon is a potent source of omega 3 fats which help fight inflammation and keep your cells healthy. Eating fish twice a week is a great way to improve your heart health. Some research also has shown that omega-3 fats has the potential to help slow cognitive problems and age-related cognitive decline.

Eggs

The humble egg is delicious and incredibly nutritious. Eggs are often referred to as nature’s multivitamin and they are one of the healthiest foods you can eat.

Every time you crack open one you are receiving nature’s goodness full of protein, Vitamin D, Vitamins A, E and B12, Omega-3 Fatty Acids, Antioxidants and Iron.

These babies are a real super food with 11 different vitamins and minerals all nutritionally packed into just 70 calories.

Prawns

Another great source of high quality protein which also contain some of the most important vitamins and minerals that make up a healthy diet. Prawns are very low in calories with roughly 115 calories per 100 grams serve (about 5 medium peeled prawns).

It’s important to consume protein from varied sources. Prawns nutrition makes them a great source of protein as they have less saturated fat and more vitamins than other protein sources. An example is that prawns have almost 22 times as much vitamin E as beef and 19 times as much as chicken.

Whey Protein

Whey protein is pretty impressive. It’s been shown to promote muscle growth when combined with exercise and may help preserve muscle during weight loss. In addition, whey protein seems to be even more effective at suppressing appetite than other protein sources.

This is because it stimulates the release of “fullness hormones,” such as PYY and GLP-1, to a greater extent. Whey also appears to boost fat burning and promote weight loss in lean people and those who are overweight or obese.

A whey protein shake is a quick meal or snack option that promotes fat loss and may help improve your body composition.

Vegetables

Asparagus

Loaded with nutrients and nutritional benefits, Asparagus is a nutrient packed vegetable. Very good source of fibre, folate and vitamins A, C, E and K as well as chromium which is a trace mineral that enhances the ability of insulin to transport glucose from the bloodstream into your cells.

Cauliflower

Usually the bridesmaid to its popular cousin, broccoli, the cauliflower is very low in calories yet high in vitamins. The humble cauli contains some of almost every vitamin and mineral that your body needs. It is a good source of immune boosting vitamin C and fibre.

Mushrooms

All types of edible mushrooms contain varying degrees of protein and fibre. Mushrooms are rich in the B vitamins: riboflavin, niacin, and pantothenic acid. The combination helps protect heart health. Riboflavin is good for red blood cells. Niacin is good for the digestive system and for maintaining healthy skin.

Zucchini is surprisingly health and packed full of nutrients. Containing zero fat, it is high in water and fibre. It also contains significant amounts of vitamins B6, riboflavin, folate, vitamins C and K, along with minerals such as potassium and manganese.

Zucchini is rich in antioxidants and anti-inflammatory phytonutrients, which help rid the body of free radicals and excess inflammation.

Fruit

Fruit should be enjoyed in moderation daily. Our favourite fat burning fruit choices are:

Strawberries are bright red, juicy, and sweet. They’re an excellent source of vitamin C and manganese and contain decent amounts of folate (vitamin B9) and potassium. Strawberries are very rich in antioxidants and plant compounds, which may have benefits for heart health and blood sugar control

Blueberries are a good source of vitamin K1, vitamin C, manganese, and several other beneficial plant compounds like anthocyanins. Eating blueberries on a regular basis may prevent heart disease, improve brain health, and help moderate blood sugar levels

Oranges make our list of approved fruits. Included in the original Dr Simeon’s protocol, the orange is low GI fruit and is amongst the world’s most popular fruits.  Containing a healthy source of fibre, vitamin C, thiamine, folate and antioxidants, the juicy orange has multiple health benefits and is an excellent addition to a healthy diet.

With the new changes that SLIMTOX has introduced to our proven program, we have made losing weight and improving your health so much more enjoyable.
